Controlled by a group of evil Tikis, the animals in Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D Island have raided Donkey Kong’s Banana Hoard and stolen his stash of bananas and he understandably wants them back.Retro Studios brings Donkey Kong Country Returns back a side-scrolling adventure with familiar characters and amazing levels that reignite the passion players had for the Super NES original. This 3DS version takes the Wii hit and launches it at gamers with 3D graphics that pop right off the screen.Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D is a portable 3D makeover of the smash-hit Wii game.The game’s story focuses on a group of evil creatures called Tikis known as the Tiki Tak Tribe that arrive on Donkey Kong Island,and hypnotize the island’s animals to steal Donkey Kong’s bananas. This forces him to retrieve the hoard with the help of his nephew Diddy Kong.Donkey Kong Country Returns is the series’ first traditional home console installment since Donkey Kong Country Returns Jungle Beat (2005),and also the first Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D entry not to involve British video game developer Rare during its development.The game received generally positive reviews, receiving an average score of 87% on GameRankings and Metacritic, and selling 4.96 million copies worldwide by the end of March 2011.
